Event Policy

The following Terms and Conditions are entered into by and between You (Attendee) and She is Vested LLC (“Vested”, “Company”, “we”, or “us”) for the purposes of attending an event.

Please read the Event Policies carefully before you purchase a ticket. By purchasing a ticket or by clicking to accept or agree to the Event Policies when this option is made available to you, you accept and agree to be bound and abide by these Event Policies and our Privacy Policy, incorporated herein by reference.

1.  Cancellation/Refund Policy. Cancellations made 3 days or more in advance of the event date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event date will be credited the price of their ticket for a future event in the same calendar year. No refunds for no-shows. To cancel your purchase, please contact us at mercedes@sheisvested.com.

2.  Program, Activity or Event Changes. Vested reserves the right to make Event policy, program, and schedule changes, additions or cancellations for any reason. Instructors and speakers are confirmed when listed but may be subject to change due to illness or other unexpected conflicts.

3. Force Majeure. Vested shall not be liable or responsible for any failure or delay in performance of an Event or any obligation under these Event Policies due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, natural disasters, fire, flood, pandemics or public health emergencies, government orders or restrictions, labor disputes, venue closures, power or internet outages, transportation interruptions, or other events outside of Vested’s reasonable control. In such circumstances, Vested reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, or modify the Event in its sole discretion.

4. Event Cancellation or Rescheduling by Vested. Vested reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an Event for any reason, including but not limited to force majeure events, speaker unavailability, venue issues, or insufficient attendance. In the event of cancellation, Attendee’s sole remedy shall be a refund or credit of the ticket purchase price, at Vested’s discretion. Vested shall not be responsible for any additional costs incurred by Attendee, including but not limited to travel, lodging, childcare, lost wages, or other expenses.

5. Photography & Video Recording. Audio recording, video recording, streaming, or broadcasting of any kind during the Event is prohibited unless expressly authorized in writing by Vested. Photography is permitted unless expressly restricted by a presenter or Vested staff.

By attending the Event, Attendee grants Vested and its authorized representatives the irrevocable right to photograph, record, and capture Attendee’s likeness, voice, name, and participation in connection with the Event. Attendee authorizes Vested to use such recordings, photographs, or content for educational, promotional, marketing, recap, and business purposes in any medium, without compensation or approval rights.

6. Prohibition of “Suitcasing” AND “Outboarding”. Attendee agrees to abide by Vested policies prohibiting “suitcasing” and “outboarding”.

Businesses and individuals who intend to target Event attendees in order to promote or sell a product, service, or the like shall support the event as an event sponsor or vendor.  Hosting, participating in, or otherwise promoting unsanctioned, unofficial functions intended for the Event attendees but held outside of the normal planned calendar of events directly harms the quality of the event for paying sponsors and attendees, undermines the attendee community and experience, and adversely affects the sustainability and success of current and future conferences or events. Such unethical practices include “suitcasing” and “outboarding,” as follows:

“Suitcasing” occurs when vendors or other parties attend our Event with a purchased ticket and distribute, sell, or otherwise offer promotional materials, gifts, products, etc. outside of allowed Presenter/Presenter Sponsorship promotion and/or without securing approval for any such activity within the parameters of an official Event sponsorship.

“Outboarding” occurs when vendors or other parties set up shop or hold programming near the event (on or near the premises), with the intention of drawing Event attendees away from scheduled events and programming. These practices harm attendee engagement and significantly detract from sponsors, presenters, and Event organizers. Any event, function, focus group, workshop, or other activity that, in the sole discretion of Vested, competes with the Event, overlaps with Event offerings, or otherwise targets Event attendees for commercial gain beyond the scope of an approved sponsorship presence is considered outboarding and is expressly prohibited.

“Partial outboarding” is also prohibited. Partial outboarding occurs when sponsoring companies pay for a lower level of sponsorship and then hold or participate in unofficial, unsanctioned functions intended for the Event attendees but held outside of the normal planned calendar of events. Just like outboarding, these unsanctioned events unethically conflict and draw away from other Event sponsors and programming, undermine the sustainability of the event, interfere with other sponsor engagement, and create confusion for attendees.

7. Guest Ticket or Assistant Accompaniment Policy. Except as expressly authorized by Vested event staff, Event programming – including educational programs, marketplace, and social events – are open to registered attendees, sponsors, and vendors only. A paid ticket shall be required for any guest or companion accompanying Attendee at Event in full or in part.

Attendee accepts full responsibility for any accompanying, spouse, assistant, aide, and/or any other guest or companion attending the Event in connection with Attendee’s participation & presence at the Event.

Attendee agrees to release, indemnify, discharge and hold harmless and defend Vested on behalf of Attendee, accompanying spouse, assistant or aide, and any other guest or companion attending the Event in connection with Attendee from and against any and all liabilities, losses, claims, damages, costs, expenses, and attorney’s fees, which are in any way connected with the Event, including but not limited to any such claims which allege negligent acts or omissions by Vested.

Attendee further agrees that Attendee, spouse, assistant, aide, and any other guest or companion shall be bound by all of the rules, policies, and regulations of the Event and the event venue(s) and that a violation of any such rules, policies, or regulations is grounds for revoking access and admission to the event and event programming without refund or compensation.

8. Assumption of Risk. Attendee understands and voluntarily assumes all risks associated with attending and participating in the Event, including but not limited to risks related to crowds, venue conditions, weather, physical movement, food and beverage consumption, transportation, interactions with other attendees, and any activities associated with the Event. Attendee knowingly and freely assumes all such risks, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable.

9. Conduct and Removal. Vested is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all attendees. Vested reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse admission to or remove any Attendee whose behavior is disruptive, unsafe, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise inconsistent with the purpose, values, or integrity of the Event, or who fails to comply with these Event Policies, venue rules, or staff instructions. Removal under this section shall be without refund or compensation.

10. Accessibility and Accommodations. Vested aims to make Events accessible and inclusive and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate accessibility needs when advance notice is provided. Attendees requiring accommodations should contact Vested at mercedes@sheisvested.com prior to the Event. While we strive to work with venues that support accessibility, Vested cannot guarantee that all Event venues or activities will be fully accessible.

11. Health and Illness. By attending the Event, Attendee acknowledges that participation involves potential exposure to illness. Attendee agrees not to attend the Event if experiencing symptoms of illness or if advised by a medical professional not to attend. Attendee voluntarily assumes all risks related to health exposure and agrees that Vested shall not be liable for any illness, injury, or related consequences arising from Event attendance.

12. Ticket Transfers and Resale. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Event tickets are non-transferable and may not be resold without prior written approval from Vested. Unauthorized resale or transfer of tickets may result in denial of entry without refund or compensation.

13. Compliance with Rules & Warnings. In the course of observing or participating in the Event programs, Attendee shall observe and obey all stated and customary rules, conditions, and warnings, including but not limited to any oral instructions or directions given by Vested, the program coordinator, the program presenter, program assistants, venue staff, or any employees, representatives, agents, or assigns of any of the foregoing parties. If Attendee observes any unusual or significant hazard, Attendee shall make reasonable efforts to avoid such hazard and bring such hazard to the attention of Vested or the nearest agent thereof.

14. Waiver of Rights. Attendee, on behalf of Attendee and any heir, assign, personal representative, or next of kin, waives the right to recover from Vested for any and all losses, personal injury, death, or damage that Attendee may sustain as a result of Attendee’s presence at or participation in the Event, whether caused by the fault of Attendee, Vested, or any third party.

15. Indemnification. Attendee agrees to be responsible for, indemnify and hold Vested harmless from any and all claims, losses, and/or occurrences which may arise from or in connection with Attendee’s presence at or participation in The Programs, including, but not limited to, losses, personal injury, death, damage, or rights of any third party. This indemnification of Vested by Attendee includes, but is not limited to, attorneys’ fees and any other expenses incurred by Vested in pursuing, defending or processing any claim resulting from Attendee’s conduct or Attendee’
