A Letter from the CEO: Summer’s Gentle Reminder

by Mercedes Leahy

As I write this, I have just unearthed my desk from a pile of moving boxes: tape still dangling from the edges, the word “OFFIC3” written on the side by my four-year-old. We’re settling into a new home, which is really just code for: everything’s a mess. My inbox is full. My sink is fuller. No one knows where the laundry detergent went. And like so many of you, I’m doing too much—but only because I have the luxury of chasing down an endless supply of daydreams.

This season feels like one long, beautiful contradiction. The days are stretched thin, and somehow also stretched wide. There’s the chaos: businesses to run, kids to wrangle, boxes to unpack, ideas to pursue. But then there’s the breeze rolling through the tall grass outside our new house, the light that lingers well into the evening, a pause in trying to organize my office to dance around the dining room with two little boys who only drive their mom insane because they long for her attention and adoration.

This is what abundance really looks like.

It’s not always clean or quiet or curated. Sometimes it’s dishes in the sink after hosting an event, or a car floor full of Cheerios from a long day of drop-offs and running errands. It’s showing up to a Vested gathering feeling a little frayed, but leaving with your cup full. It’s knowing that the mess is proof of a life being lived—deeply and fully and with intention.

And it’s also knowing that you’re not doing it alone.

Vested was built for seasons like this. Not just the sunshine and celebration—but the stretch. The push. The part where you’re navigating business and every season of womanhood and ambition and exhaustion all at once. We’re here to remind you that even when it’s a lot, it’s not too much. And even in the overwhelm, you are surrounded by women who get it, who are rooting for you, and who will hold space for both your burnout and your big dreams.

This summer, I’m choosing to see the chaos as evidence of a life that’s full. Not perfectly balanced—but rich. Wild. Abundant.

Here’s to soaking it in—every sunrise, every mess, every small, miraculous moment of grace.

With gratitude,

Mercedes Leahy
